Privacy and cookies
This page explains in plain words which data oscia.it collects, why and for how long, and how to exercise your rights.
Data controller
Pasquale Pillitteri, Palermo (Italy). For any request write to info@oscia.it.
Which data we collect
Email: only if you enter it in the "PDF guide" box and confirm the link you receive (double opt-in). Nothing is stored before confirmation. IP address: used to limit abusive requests, kept temporarily for 24 hours. Web server logs (IP, page, time, browser): kept for security for up to 30 days.
Why and on which legal basis
Email: to send you the PDF guide and, a few times a year, Lampedusa updates. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. Logs and rate limiting: legitimate interest in site security (art. 6.1.f).
Who processes data for us
Emails are handled through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France, European Union), acting as data processor. The site is hosted on servers in France. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
For how long
Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Rate-limiting IP: 24 hours. Server logs: up to 30 days.
Cookies and third-party content
oscia.it does not use its own profiling cookies. The banner on first visit asks for consent to load third-party content (YouTube videos, GetYourGuide widget) which may set their own cookies; your choice is saved in your browser (localStorage) and can be changed by clearing site data. Wind forecasts and the map are served by our server with no external calls from your browser.
Affiliate links
Some links (tours, accommodation) are affiliate links: if you book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner only receives the data needed for the booking, under its own privacy notice.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and object to processing by writing to info@oscia.it. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or your local authority.
